Among the good properties of gypsum (plaster) as a coating material,
it has good performance from the point of view of application,
durability and protection from fire. There are different types for
differing applications.
- Yeso lento: A relatively slow setting plaster, used for general finishing, patching and internal building
- Yeso rapido: A very quick setting plaster used as a support and
fixing in building. Fixing straight edges (reglas) both horizontally and
vertically for setting out is the most common use.
- Yeso fino or yeso blanco: A fine finishing plaster also available as ‘yeso fino lento,’ which is slower setting.
- Escayola: A very fine plaster used for both finishing walls and ceilings and for casting and decoration.
Exterior rendering can is done using a sand and cement mixture. Here
are some picture explaining how we cover that dated pebble-dash walls
and render them to bring the exterior of the house up to date.
